Kenyatta University student Kelvin Kirwa Kiplimo has proved the saying that all our dreams are valid.

Ahead of today’s Afcon 2019 qualifier between Kenya and Ethiopia at the Kasarani Stadium, the youngster set out to catch Victor Wanyama’s eyes with a request for his match shirt.

Football jerseys, especially match day shirts, are priceless possessions that most fans long to have but only a few get them.

To achieve his dream, Kirwa made a banner Saturday with words “Victor Wanyama I need your shirt,” took a photo of himself while standing on his bed and then asked this writer to share it on Facebook, if it could help.

The 21-year-old also promised to carry the banner to the stadium the following day Sunday.

The post received a lot of interest with many wishing him well.

Two Facebook contributors, Mariko Abwao and Kiarie Mbugua promised to ensure that the message reached the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.

Mariko reported back that indeed the Harambee Stars skipper had agreed to hand over his shirt to third year journalism student after the game and true his word he did so after the 3-0 win.

“I’m so grateful – I’m wearing the shirt now on my way home. I want to thank you very much, you made it possible,” Kirwa told Kahawa Tungu.
