Detectives are investigating murder in an incident where the body of a woman was found in her kitchen in Magombo, Nyamira County.
Police said the discovery was made on Tuesday May 5 evening and identified the woman as Hellen Ombego, 79.
Her body was discovered lying on the floor long after she had died, police said adding it had bruises on the neck and knee.
The motive of the murder was not immediately known and the body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy.
Elsewhere in Lessos, Trans Nzoia County, a decomposed body of a woman was found in a forest.
The body was discovered by forestry officials who were on patrols in the area.
Police were informed of the incident and moved the body to the mortuary for autopsy.
And in Lungalunga, Kwale County, 77-year-old Kesi Gwede was found dead on a farm after suspected murder. Police said the deceased was shot by arrows from the back by an assailant who escaped.
Two arrows were found lodged in the stomach and kidney and the motive of the murder was not immediately known.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police said they were pursuing leads into the murder.
Elsewhere in Kizingo, Malindi, Kilifi County, an unknown body was found lying on the roadside long after his murder.
Police said the body had two deep cuts in the head and fractures on the left hand and right hand.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
And police in Kisumu arrested a suspect and recovered five rounds of ammunition, a panga, a dagger, a teargas canister, a pistol holster and three national identification cards from him in the war on crime.
Police said they are investigating his activities at large to know more.
In Hindi, Lamu County, a man had his legs fractured after he fell from a Mukoma Tree. The man had climbed there to fetch a traditional liquor when he fell off and landed on the ground.
