yuMobile has today unveiled a new day and night calling offer that will see its subscribers enjoy extended talk time all day and night.

yuMobile subscribers who already enjoy FREE yu to yu calls  all day can now extend this to night chat for ONLY 3/- extra. The free calls are available as default and on a pay-as-you-use model which means customers who are not making yu-yu calls during day (6.00am – 6.00pm) or night (10.00pm – 6.00am) will not be charged.

Speaking while unveiling the offer, yuMobile Country Manager, Mr. Madhur Taneja said the typical Kenyan mobile subscriber enjoys communicating frequently, and at all times, but the market does not have a product that addresses this need.

“yuMobile remains committed to responding to customers’ needs and giving them best value for their money. We are now giving our subscribers a product that allows them to enjoy the most affordable calling rates all day and night in line with our low cost model. We believe in this model and intend to keep subscriber acquisition and maintenance costs at the bare minimum as we pass on the savings to our customers.”

The Country Manager dismissed the notion that low cost calling model is not sustainable challenging mobile firms to share passive infrastructure such as the tower and generators to reduce costs.

“If the country’s telecommunication firms decided to share infrastructure, this would result in massive savings which would then translate into lower billing rates that can still deliver strong profits,” Mr. Taneja added.
