Lawyer urges Supreme Court judges to stop reading newspapers and focus on petition

Advocate Nelson Havi has advised Supreme Court judges to put away TV remotes and stop spending too much time reading newspapers at the expense of the thousands of pages of affidavits and legal arguments before them.

Yesterday, the Supreme Court issued a decree warning politicians to stop discussing both the judges and the NASA case challenging re-election of President Uhuru.

“The success of this task comes with public responsibility. The public should, therefore, avoid making statements that are intended to direct the court,” said Chief Justice David Maraga.

According to Mr. Havi, the judges seem to spend too much time following frivolous debates on the case before them and not focusing on the material of the case.

Sorry guys. It took me the whole day looking up law prohibiting discussion of SCOK Judges and the petition. I am yet to find it. Given up.

My advise to SCOK Judges: stop reading newspapers and watching TV when you have volumes of evidence to read between now and Saturday.

The Supreme Court is composed of justices David Maraga (presiding), Philemona Mwilu, Prof. JB Ojwang’, Dr. Smokin Wanjala, Mohammed Ibrahim, Njoki Ndung’u and Isaac Lenaola.
