Myisha Hines-Allen is a standout American professional basketball player currently playing as a forward for the Dallas Wings in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

Raised in a sports-loving family, Myisha grew up idolizing the WNBA, particularly the New York Liberty, and honed her skills at Montclair High School.

She went on to play college basketball at the University of Louisville, where she established herself as one of the program’s all-time greats.

Drafted in the second round (19th overall) by the Washington Mystics in 2018, Myisha has since built an impressive career, marked by versatility, resilience, and a championship pedigree.

    Siblings

Myisha is one of six children born to Robert Allen and Kim Allen, a family steeped in athletic talent and competitive spirit.

She has three sisters, LaTorri Hines-Allen, Ranese Hines-Allen, and Kyra Hines-Allen, and two brothers, Joshua (Josh) Hines-Allen and Isaiah Hines-Allen.

LaTorri, four years older than Myisha, played college basketball at Towson University, a Division I program.

Known for her competitive nature, she has been a significant influence on Myisha, recalling how her younger sister hated losing and would demand rematches as a child.

LaTorri’s basketball journey reflects the family’s deep connection to the sport.

Ranese Hines-Allen, while less documented in terms of her athletic career, is part of the tight-knit Hines-Allen sibling group.

Joshua, Myisha’s younger brother, born on July 13, 1997, is a star defensive end for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL.

Selected seventh overall in the 2019 NFL Draft after a stellar college career at the University of Kentucky—where he won the Chuck Bednarik Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy—Josh has earned two Pro Bowl selections.

    Career

Myisha’s basketball journey began at Montclair High School, where she became the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,803 points and grabbed 1,035 rebounds.

A five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American, she took her talents to Louisville, playing from 2014 to 2018.

At Louisville, she shattered records, finishing with over 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, a feat only matched by Angel McCoughtry in program history.

She set the single-season rebounding record with 373 boards in her senior year and was named ACC Tournament MVP in 2018.

Entering the WNBA in 2018 with the Washington Mystics, Myisha quickly made her mark, contributing to their 2019 championship run.

Her breakout season came in 2020, when she averaged 17.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.

After seven seasons with the Mystics—where she ranks eighth in franchise history for rebounds and is one of only two players with over 1,400 points, 900 rebounds, and 300 assists—she was traded to the Minnesota Lynx in August 2024.

There, she played a key role off the bench during their run to the WNBA Finals.

On February 2, 2025, Myisha signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Wings, joining a revamped roster featuring stars like Arike Ogunbowale.

    Accolades

Hines-Allen won a WNBA Championship in 2019 with the Washington Mystics.

In 2020, she earned All-WNBA Second Team honors, recognizing her breakout performance.

She was named ACC Player of the Year in 2016 during her sophomore season at Louisville.

In 2018, she was the ACC Tournament MVP, leading Louisville to the title.

She received multiple First-Team All-ACC selections, including in 2016 and 2017 by the Blue Ribbon Panel.

In 2017, she was the WNIT MVP, showcasing her dominance in the postseason. As a high school standout, she was a McDonald’s All-American in 2014.

At Louisville, she holds impressive records: second all-time in double-doubles with 45, third in scoring, and second in rebounds with 1,151.
