EALA MP Simon Mbugua has today claimed that his life is in danger after police officers together with the management of Panafric Hotel blocked his attempts to address the media at the high end hotel.

According to sources close to the MP, police officers from the Nairobi Area headquarters blocked him from addressing the media and told him to consult their seniors who gave the orders. The MP confirmed from Nairobi DCI boss, Nicholas Kamwende, who indicated that he has express orders not to allow the event.

In a video which has been circulating, the MP is heard demanding to know why he is being blocked from expressing himself while he is not breaking any law or destroying property. The plain-clothed police officers are seen walking away and hiding their faces from the media.

MP Simon Mbugua who is a key lieutenant of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, has also been a strong supporter of the Deputy President. The MP has indicated that PS Karanja Kibicho is determined to blocked DP William Ruto from becoming President and all the actions now are part of that plot.

“Why is the PS so determined to fight anyone close to Governor Sonko and DP Ruto? What law have we broken? Why are we being unfairly targeted?,” the MP asked.

However, a spokesman from Interior PS Karanja Kibicho’s office, Mwenda Njoka, has disputed this and said that it is people who are in the governor’s office who are fighting the PS. The PS has also indicated that he will soon sue the governor and his key lieutenants for defaming him through “wild allegations.”

Governor Sonko yesterday blacked PS Karanja Kibicho for trying to block him from addressing the gathering at the Tree Planting event which was organised by State House at the Moi Forces Academy in Huruma.
