A Nairobi court will on October 13, 2025, rule whether to allow a former director of Oki Trading Company Limited (OTCL), Honey Khatwani, to temporarily reclaim his passport in order to travel to Dubai for a business trip.
Khatwani, who is facing charges of stealing Sh356,711,174.40 from OTCL, filed an application seeking the release of his passport, for scheduled business engagement in Dubai between September 29 and October 16, 2025.
When the matter came up for mention on Monday before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Dolphina Alego, the prosecution, led by State Counsel Hillary Isiakho, requested for 14 days to file written submissions opposing the application.
“Your Honour, we are requesting for two weeks to file our written submissions against the application by the defence,” Isiakho told the court.
The defence confirmed that it had already filed its application and consented to the matter being handled through written submissions.
The magistrate granted the prosecution’s request and scheduled the matter for ruling on October 13, 2025.
Khatwani is accused of stealing USD 2,786,174.40 (approximately Sh356.7 million) from OKI General Trading Limited between January 1, 2020, and June 30, 2024, while serving as a director of the company.
The alleged theft occurred at the company’s premises in Babadogo, Nairobi.
