AMREF Flying Doctors has finally airlifted Baby Cyprian Osinya to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for specialised treatment. The baby who has a bullet lodged in his brain after the Likoni Church attack will be operated on my specialists at Kenyatta National Hospital.

National Disaster Operation Centre claimed in a tweet that the government was flying neurosurgeons to Mombasa last night. That didn’t happen. When they were called out, they then started claiming through the State House and NDOC accounts that the government will foot the bills but the Health Cabinet Secretary James Macharia has indicated that he is not aware of the commitment of the government to foot the bills as alleged.

The AMREF move is a result of sustained social media campaign by Kenyans on Twitter with former Bureti MP Hon Franklin Bett promising that he will foot part of the bill should there be need.
