Transport Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) for Transport Chris Obure has revealed that some donations from Chinese philanthropist Jack Ma did not arrive in Kenya. Appearing before the National Assembly Committee on Health, the CAS said that 21 packages of assorted medical supplies did not land in Nairobi from Ethiopia. Mr Obure further disclosed that his ministry was not aware the specific supplies that went missing. Kenya has recorded 178 cases of COVID-19 after testing 3,474 samples in the last 24 hours. This pushes the total number of infections to 34,493. Cumulatively, Kenya has tested 459,562 samples since March when the index case was reported. 110 of the new infections were males while 68 weree females. The youngest case was a three-year-old infant and the oldest a 77 year old individual. Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has dismissed claims of revising park entry fees upwards for Kenyan citizens. Reports indicated that foreigners would access parks at a reduced fee compared to the locals whose charges had apparently been raised by 60 per cent. Ministry of Tourism has revised park fees for locals and foreign tourists as the industry seeks to recover from the effects of COVID-19 pandemic. CS Najib Balala, in a legal notice, reviewed the fees upwards for Kenyans and slashed the fees for foreigners. For example, domestic tourists will part with Sh400 down from Sh300 for access to Nairobi National Park. Charges for Nakuru, Amboseli parks went from Sh500 to Sh800, a 60% rise.
