Transport Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) for Transport Chris Obure has revealed that some donations from Chinese philanthropist Jack Ma did not arrive in Kenya. Appearing before the National Assembly Committee on Health, the CAS said that 21 packages of assorted medical supplies did not land in Nairobi from Ethiopia. Mr Obure further disclosed that his ministry was not aware the specific supplies that went missing. Sammy Kipketer, a former long-distance runner and Stephen Tarus risk losing multi-million matrimonial properties should NCBA Bank go through with an auction. The duo guaranteed a loan for Prayosha Ventures, which is owned by Tejaskumar Ratilal Patel. Mr Patel had a Sh606 million loan with the lender but stopped servicing it back in 2017. Two men were on Wednesday arrested for personating DCI officers and summoning a member of parliament under false pretence. Dennis Muturi Nyakundi and Victor Onsare were nabbed at a Nairobi hotel after sleuths laid a trap. Kenya has recorded 178 cases of COVID-19 after testing 3,474 samples in the last 24 hours. This pushes the total number of infections to 34,493. Cumulatively, Kenya has tested 459,562 samples since March when the index case was reported. 110 of the new infections were males while 68 weree females. The youngest case was a three-year-old infant and the oldest a 77 year old individual. Suspended Thirdway Alliance Party leader Ekuru Aukot has been barred from accessing party offices until a case before the party disciplinary committee is determined on September 4. Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has extended Rebecca Miano’s contract as Managing Director for a further three years. According to the board chair Joshua Choge, the decision was reached following a rigorous evaluation process. Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has dismissed claims of revising park entry fees upwards for Kenyan citizens. Reports indicated that foreigners would access parks at a reduced fee compared to the locals whose charges had apparently been raised by 60 per cent. Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and five other accused persons have been released on Sh2 million and Sh500,000 cash bail, respectively. Jumwa gave herself up to the police on Sunday evening after failing to appear in court on Friday in Sh19 million county development fund (CDF) graft case. Ministry of Tourism has revised park fees for locals and foreign tourists as the industry seeks to recover from the effects of COVID-19 pandemic. CS Najib Balala, in a legal notice, reviewed the fees upwards for Kenyans and slashed the fees for foreigners. For example, domestic tourists will part with Sh400 down from Sh300 for access to Nairobi National Park. Charges for Nakuru, Amboseli parks went from Sh500 to Sh800, a 60% rise. Slain businessman Kevin Omwenga has been laid to rest at his Soko Village home, Kitutu Chache Sub-county ,Kisii County. Some of the notable figures at the burial included Steve Mbogo, Zaheer Jhanda, Don Bosco, Charles Nyagoto and some members of the county assembly from Kisii and Nairobi. American star Chadwick Boseman has died. The 42 year old actor who will be remembered for his role in the superhero movie “Black Panther” lost the battle to colon cancer.
