Operations have been scaled down over at the National Treasury and ICT Ministry after employees tested positive for COVID-19. In a memo to all staffers at Treasury, the Principle Administrative Secretary revealed that 10 employees had contracted the virus. The memo also indicated that 200 persons will be tested for the killer disease everyday between July 14 and July 16. The tests will be carried out by the ministry of health, the memo read further. 41 healthcare workers at Pumwani Maternity Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19, acting health director Dr Patrick Amoth has confirmed. Speaking on Tuesday, Dr Amoth said that all the Coronavirus victims have been on home-based isolation. Two of them have been discharged and the other 39 are doing okay, he said. Kirinyaga ward representatives are not letting up in their fight against the county governor Anne Waiguru. The Members of the county Assembly have started collecting signatures to dissolve the county government. Kenya on Monday recorded the highest number of Covid-19 deaths in a single day. According to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, 12 patients lost the battle to the deadly virus bringing the total number of fatalities to 197. All the deceased persons, he said, were from Nairobi county. Lali is accused of killing Tecra who at the time of her death was living with the former at a private house in Shella, Lamu Island. First doctor to lose their life to COVID-19 was diabetic, family has revealed. Dr Adisa Lugaliki succumbed to the virus on Friday, July 10, in the morning, while receiving treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital. Two employees of the University of Nairobi (UoN) have lost their lives to Coronavirus, VC Prof Stephen Kiama has revealed.
