Kenya has confirmed 104 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours after testing a 2,820 sample size, Health CAS Rashid Aman has said. This brings the national tally to 4,478. On a positive note, 36 patients have been discharged raising the total number of recoveries to 1,586. On the other hand, 2 more patients have succumbed to the novel COVID-19. Police on Saturday interrupted a meeting convened by Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula. The meeting meant to forge a way forward for the Luhya community was being held at Malava MP Malulu Injendi. Three police officers stationed at Kamukunji Police Station, Nairobi County, have tested positive for coronavirus. Two of the police officers are said to be receiving treatment at Mbagathi Hospital and Kenyatta University Referral Hospital. Court sessions in Mombasa county stand suspended after 11 staff members tested positive for the novel COVID-19. In a statement, Chief Justice David Maraga said that contact tracing has kicked off and 118 close contacts of the infected persons have since been traced. Kenya Bureau of Standards (KeBS) has suspended the sale and distribution of an animal feed supplement that is said to have led to the death of 24 cows last weekend. In an announcement in a local daily, the standards body banned the sale of Rumate animal feed until investigations are concluded. Cop who allegedly shot and killed 13 year old boy, Yassin Moyo on March 30 did not show up for plea taking. Duncan Ndiema is said to have exhibited COVID-19 symptoms.
