Kenya has so far confirmed 781 cases after testing  2, 100 samples over the last 24 hours, Health CAS Rashid Aman said on Friday. This was after 23 people tested positive for the coronavirus. 5 are females while 18 are males, between the ages of 24 and 85. 11 of the new cases are from Nairobi, 5 from Mombasa, Kajiado (3), Kiambu and Wajir with two each. Crystal Asige, formerly of Sol Generation has revealed the reason why she is no longer working with the label. The Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) has disbanded Nairobi County’s planning and technical committee. In a public notice, NMS director general Mohamed Abdalla said that the e-construction development application processing system has also been suspended. “The e-construction development application processing system formerly managed by NCCG is suspended immediately pending formation of a new system. All applications should continue to be filed to NMS DG’s office at KICC first floor,” a public notice published on Wednesday read. A section of Jubilee Party women leaders have decried the treatment of fellow female legislators by the party secretary general Raphael Tuju. Out of the 1,486 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 21 have tested positive, Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi said on Thursday. This brings the total number of positive cases of COVID-19 to 758. 30 Kenyans living in the diaspora have died from the novel COVID-19, Foreign Affairs CS Raychelle Omamo has said. They are among the 193 cases reported outside Kenya, she told an Adhoc Committee on Covid-19 pandemic chaired by Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja. COVID-19 cases in Kenya have jumped to 737 after 22 people tested positive for the virus. These were among the 1,516 samples tested in the last 24 hours. 10 of the cases are from Nairobi, 8 from Mombasa, Bomet 1 and 3 from Kajiado. Bomet brings to 20 the number of counties reporting cases of coronavirus. In terms of gender, 17 are male while 5 are female. The new cases are aged between 20 and 81 years. Four suspected gang members were on Wednesday morning fatally injured following a police shootout along Kangundo Road. In a tweet, the DCI said the gang were trailed by a team of SSU detectives tasked with the “No Guns for Gangs” endeavour. The number of flood victims has risen to 237 up from 194 the previous week, Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa has said. On Wednesday, the CS noted that the number of affected households has shot to 161,000. “That is a very high number compared to those Kenyans who have lost their lives to COVID-19 who are about 33,” CS Wamalwa said. Detectives on Tuesday arrested pharmaceutical company director and two managers for violating a directive from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB). The order issued in March barred pharmaceutical companies from manufacturing drugs for a period of 12 months. The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) has temporarily suspended the execution of a coalition pact between Jubilee Party and KANU.
