President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Monday holed up in a meeting with IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati at the Harambee House. Hillcrest School Principal, Gabrielle Maina died of a gun shot wound on the neck, collapsed lungs and internal bleeding, Pathologist Johansen Oduor has said. Ms Maina was shot on Miotoni Road in Karen on Thursday morning after dropping off her son at a friend’s place. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) On Monday appealed against Justice Mativo’s ruling that allowed the inclusion of ThirdWay Alliance presidential candidate, Ekuru Aukot and five other candidates in October 26 elections. The case was initially filed by Blogger Abraham Mutai alias Lord Mutai through his Lawyer Nelson Havi. The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko has called for the prosecution of Kisumu Senator Fred Outa and former Deputy Governor, Ruth Odinga. Mr Tobiko on Monday directed that they be arrested and charged with incitement. The two are accused of attacking IEBC officials during a training on Wednesday. Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi on Saturday made some distasteful comments towards Kiss 100’s Adelle Onyango. Human Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi was during the ‘Stop Killing Protesters’ march in Nairobi’s CBD hit by a teargas canister. The police officer was caught on tape lobbing the canister, flooring Mwangi during the peaceful demonstrations. The march was meant to protest against police brutality towards unarmed citizens. Maseno University was on Thursday, 19 October closed indefinitely. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Julius O. Nyabundi said that the closure will help the student participate in the election process. The students were asked to vacate the premises before 8 am, today morning. ”Due to the prevailing circumstances, the University is hereby closed indefinitely. Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) was on Thursday morning closed. In a memo dated 18 October, the registrar, Dr E.T Muoria, says the institution will remain closed until further notice.
