High Court has temporarily barred DCI, IG and DPP from arresting or prosecuting Law Society of Kenya (LSK) president Nelson Havi for allegedly assaulting suspended CEO Mercy Wambua. Police are holding a man suspected to have killed two children aged 13 and 12 on diverse dates. The children, identified as Charles Opindo Bala, 13 who went missing on June 30, 2021 and Mutuku Musyoka, 12 who went missing on July 8, were found in a thicket in Kabete, Kiambu County. The man believed to be behind the deaths has been identified as Masten Milimu Wanjala who led police to a place near Kabete Approved School where he had dumped the bodies. Kenya is in the clear after the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) absolved it from any wrongdoing in the re-arrest and repatriation of Nigerian separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu. Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has been arrested for allegedly assaulting CEO Mercy Wambua. According to the LSK vice-president Carolyne Kamande, Havi was apprehended on Tuesday at his offices and was taken to DCI offices. On Monday, Wambua accused the LSK president of assaulting her during a meeting convened at their offices based along Gitanga Road. 104 Ethiopians have been arrested following a raid at a house in Thome, Juja subcounty on Monday. A Nairobi lawyer is in trouble after he allegedly assaulted his wife and son at their home in Uthiru, Kiambu County. George Brian Akello is accused of physically harming his spouse Winnie Eguchi and their 13-year-old son on the night of July 5. The lawyer is facing assault charges at the Kibera Law Courts. 241 people have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample size of 2,961 tested in the last 24 hours, Ministry of Health has confirmed. Total confirmed positive cases now stand at 188,754 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 2,015,659. The positivity rate is currently at 8.1%.
