A woman mistaken for wanted cop Caroline Kangogo has finally broken her silence. The Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) on Friday barred all radio stations from running lottery programmes. In a statement, the regulator director Peter Mbugi noted that the board was concerned over the rampant fraud reported. According to Mbugi, license holders and radio stations are collaborating to run illegal lotteries. Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatangi is on the spot for allegedly abandoning his fatherly duties towards his daughter. The legislator has been accused of declining to pay his daughter’s Form One entry fees. Cytonn Investments Ltd has vilified Capital Markets Authority (CMA) for blaming the judicial system for “frustrating” their mandate. Appearing before the National Assembly Finance and National Planning Committee on Thursday, CMA CEO Wyckliffe Shamiah said the courts were getting in the way of their work. “Investigations have been done by us and even DCI. A woman is nursing bullet wounds in a case of mistaken identity. Phanice Chemutai Juma was shot in the abdomen by Ken Muyundo on Thursday night at the Kiminini market, Trans Nzoia county. After the incident, Muyundo reported the matter to police at the Kiminini Police Station saying he fired just to scare her. The family of security consultant Mwenda Mbijiwe’s driver has claimed that their kin is also missing. Mathew Muhatia Namasaka went missing on June 12, the same day the former KDF officer is said to have gone without a trace. Suspected serial killer Phillip Onyancha has been acquitted of one of the murder cases brought against him. Justice Jessie Lessit on Thursday ruled that the prosecution did not prove that the accused indeed killed Jacqueline Chepngetich Misoi on May 30 2008, at the Mount Kenya building along Kombo Munyiri Road in Nairobi. Former President Jacob Zuma has handed himself over to the authorities and is set to start serving his 15 month jail sentence. The ex-head of state handed himself over early Thursday and will be jailed at the Estcourt Correctional Centre in his home province of KwaZulu-Natal.
