Chief Justice Martha Koome has transferred Court of Appeal judges and posted newly appointed judges to their stations. In a statement, Koome said the transfers have been effected following consultations with the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Daniel Musinga. “The transfers are done in accordance with the Transfer Policy of the Court of Appeal that spells out clearly how long a judge should serve in one station, among other issues,” said Koome. Speaker of the Senate Ken Lusaka has been sued by a woman who is allegedly carrying his child. Irene Naswa Mutaki, through her lawyer Danstan Omari, said that the speaker has neglected his responsibilities towards his unborn child. The woman wants Sh200,000 per month in support for her unborn child or a lump sum of Sh25 million if unable to meet his monthly obligations. She also wants the senate speaker to include her in his medical cover. The Kenya Universities Staff Union (KUSU) wants fired Maasai Mara University’s chief finance officer Spencer Sankale reinstated. In a press conference on Monday, union chair Dr Phillip Onyango said Sankale’s dismissal by the university council was illegal. Two armed thugs have been fatally shot by police officers after accosting a woman along Muhoho Road, Lang’ata. In a series of tweets, DCI boss George Kinoti said the thugs attacked the woman who had just been dropped off by a taxi in the said area. They robbed her of her mobile phone and other valuables. Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has confirmed 796 new Covid-19 cases from 7,392 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The total number of infections now stands at 178,078. The positivity rate is now at 10.8 per cent. 746 of the cases are Kenyans, while foreigners account for 50; 458 are males while 338 are females. Great Airways Limited and Mombasa Air Safari on Friday introduced flights to Homa Bay’s Kabunde Airstrip. This was after most airlines including; Blue Sky Aviation, Silverstone Air, Fly 540 and East African Safari Air,  withdrew their aircrafts due to low number of passengers.
