Homicide detectives have taken over investigations into the murder of Dutch businessman Herman Rouwenhorst, who was found dead on Friday at his Shanzu apartment. The sleuths are working closely with Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) as they look into mobile phone records. An American national has been charged for assaulting a police officer in Gigiri. Zarnoch Stanley Theodore was charged before Kibera senior principal magistrate Charles Mwaniki on Friday for causing serious injuries to Constable Kamau Muthoni. According the charge sheet, the accused person committed the offence on June 2 at the entrance to the International Organisation for Immigration in Gigiri area. Police have in custody three suspects who are said to have attacked and robbed Chinese contractors of Sh6 million. The incident took place at the Kariminu (II) Dam site in Gatundu North, Kiambu. “They were forced to surrender approximately Ksh6 million,” a police report reads in part. At least three suspected members of the Al-Shabaab terror group were on Saturday fatally shot in a police operation in Boni Forest, Lamu County. The men were found with large quantities of food, a motorcycle and two rifles loaded with ammunition. President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday approved the appointment of 34 new judges of the 41 proposed to him by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) in 2019. A Kajiado court has granted police more time to hold two suspects believed to have been involved in the murder of a grade 2 pupil.
