Police are looking for a German national after his girlfriend was found dead under the bed at their Kilifi apartment. Krabbe Dietter Gunther is said to have fought with his Kenyan girlfriend, Cynthia Anyango Otieno, on Wednesday night at around 10 pm. The next day, witnesses told authorities, Mr Gunther was seen leaving the apartment in Mdomodoni kwa Chief area of Mtwapa, with two bags in hand at around 5 pm. Police Constables William Chirchir and Godfrey Kirui have been sentenced to seven years in jail each. The officers were on May 11 found guilty of manslaughter. The duo was convicted for killing Janet Waiyaki on the morning of May 20, 2018, while in a car with her nephew, Bernard Chege at City Park, Parklands. High Court Judge Stella Mutuku ruled that the officers used excessive force when no crime had been committed by the deceased and Mr Chege. The family of Sabenzia Chepkesis Killong wants a post mortem conducted to establish the cause of death as well as a permit to rebury her remains at the family home in Ndalu location, Bungoma. A Kenyan man reported missing over a week ago in Atlanta, Georgia has been found dead at a slimy creek near his home. Evans Gathaga Muhia’s remains were recovered by Douglas Police in Lithia Springs after a fisherman spotted his lifeless body. A Nairobi businessman has been charged with obtaining money by false pretenses from another trader. The suspect, Peter Kimani Njenga, is said to have lured Michael Musyoki Nzivo into a fraudulent Bitcoin deal that saw the later lose Sh2,040,000. Njenga is said to have pretended to have invested for Nzivo the monies in bitcoin, a fact he knew to be false. Police are hunting for a robbery with violence suspect who escaped while in custody. Ngalaa Hassan is said to have fled Mombasa Law Courts on Monday after the presiding judge revoked bail. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recovered stolen public assets worth Sh25 billion in the last five years. In a speech read on behalf of EACC vice chair Sophia Lepuchirit, by the commission’s head of training, Gilbert Lukhoba, the commission said it has averted the loss of Sh30.4 billion over the same period. As part of its efforts to recover illegally acquired assets, the commission is also pursuing forfeiture of unexplained wealth valued at Sh25.5 billion. Mukaa Boys High School in Makueni has been closed indefinitely following student unrest that left a dormitory in ashes. Police were earlier holding 12 students over the Saturday night incident that saw property worth hundreds of thousands destroyed.
