Three Presidential Escort officers who were involved in Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi arrest drama, attached to the Deputy President William Ruto have been transferred to Homa Bay, Mandera and Bondo. Chief Inspector Amos Ekiru was transferred to Bondo, Constable Issack Dida to Mandera while Constable Simon Siengo was transferred to Homa Bay. The three were found in Sudi’s house when police raided his home to arrest him on September 11, prompting disciplinary action against them. Former Equity Bank general manager for Agency Banking Mr Joseph Macharia Kagicha has gone to court seeking Ksh132.7 million compensation for what he terms as wrongful dismissal. Mr Kagicha was fired last month after completing a four month suspension from March to July 2020, over unclear reasons. In court submissions through his lawyer Titus Koceyo, Mr Kagicha says that the bank should compensate him Ksh10 million for discrimination, psychological and mental torture. Conflict has hit the Ministry of East African Community and Regional Government following the appointment of two executives on the position of acting CEO of the Tana River Development Authority (Tarda). In the first instance, East African Community cabinet secretary Adan Mohammed appointed sacked Kenya Forest Service director general Emilio Mugo to take up the position. The Startup bill has been gazetted in the Kenya Gazette with the aim of providing a framework that promotes  “a culture of innovative thinking and entrepreneurship.” The bill also outlines the process of registration for startups and provides a framework to assist Startups link with the private sector, investors, financial institutions and research organizations. The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) has released the Consumer Protection Guidelines 2010 for Public Comments and review. The draft rules seek to protect consumers from exploitation by operators. Apple users can now download Gmail as their default email app. Google just released it latest update to Gmail allowing users to set it as the default email app on iOS 14. The latest Apple update, iOS 14, which was released last week, allows users to set up third party applications for default emailing, as opposed to the previous versions which only allowed users to set up emails on Safari and Apple Mail. Former CIC Insurance CEO Mr Tom Gitongo has sold his 11 million shares in the company worth Ksh23.6 million. According to reports by Business Daily, Gitongo sold his shares in August 2020, close to a year after he resigned in October 2019. When he resigned, Mr Gitongo was paid Ksh154.4 million, Ksh76.3 million being gratuity which was calculated at 31 percent of the annual basic pay for each year worked.
