South Korea has imposed a fine worth about Sh17 million on video-sharing app TikTok. The Korea Communications Authority (KCC) fined the company over allegations of mishandling children’s data amid growing concerns regarding users’ privacy. According to KCC, TikTok collected users’ data from children under 14 years of age without consent from their guardians. The New Kenya Cooperative Creameries (KCC) has stopped supplying milk to the Tuskys Supermarkets following non payment of debts running into millions of shillings. The new KCC disclosed that the retailer had accrued high debts prompting the supplier to suspend dealings with them. MTN Uganda is required to list at least 20 percent of its shares on the country’s stock exchange within the next two years. The price of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will increase by KSh11.38, KSh17.30 and KSh2.98 per litre respectively as from July 15. Super Petrol will now retail at Ksh100.48 in Nairobi, Diesel at Ksh91.87 and Kerosene at Ksh65.45. In Mombasa, the prices will be relatively lower at Ksh98.11 for Super Petrol, Ksh89.50 for Diesel and Ksh63.09 for Kerosene. Kenya has deployed the use of technology in the fight against the locust menace. A team of locust scouts trained by local aid group, ACTED, with the help of United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) working with the Turkana County Regional Government are using an application dubbed E-locust to spot and report sightings of the locusts.
