Kimilili Member of Parliament (MP) Didmus Barasa was on Saturday involved in a road accident after his vehicle overturned. According to reports, the legislator was involved in the accident at a place known as Ndengelwa area along Malaba-Bumgoma-Webuye- Eldoret Highway. Officers from the General Service Unit (GSU) were forced to disperse worshippers at Nairobi Central SDA following a rival clash. Two officers from the Kenya Defense Force (KDF) were on Friday nabbed in connection with stealing a motor vehicle. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), one suspect corporal Nicholas Kemboi was arrested in Kabete while he was in possession of the stolen car. At the time of the arrest, the sleuths discovered that the colour of the vehicle and its registration number had already been changed. Bomet Deputy Governor Hillary Barchok is set to be sworn-in as the county’s third governor following the death of Joyce Laboso on Monday. According to reports, Mr Barchok will be sworn-in on Thursday next week. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has on Thursday summoned Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to their offices. According to the anti-graft agency, Sonko has been asked to record a statement on the graft allegations he made against Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris. The court has ordered for the closure of Kibos Sugar Factor over environmental pollution after a group of residents filed a petition against the company. In the case by the residents against the factory, Kibos Sugar and Allied Industry Limited were the first respondents, while Kibos Power Limited was the second respondent and the Kibos Distillers Limited labeled as the third respondent.
