Eldoret Court was on Tuesday treated to disbelief after the chief magistrate learnt that a suspect who had been held in female remand cells was a man. The suspect, who was identified as Shieys Chepkosgei was charged with impersonation after he was arrested at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH). Nandi Police Commander Thomas Ngeiywa has been recalled to police headquarters in Nairobi a week after he failed to arrest Governor Stephen Sang . He has since been replaced by Mr Samuel ole Kine who had reportedly been redeployed from Trans Nzoia to the headquarters. Mr Kine served in similar position before he was transferred. Police officers have on Tuesday morning arrested one suspect and seized bhang worth Ksh800,000 in a sting operation. Rongo Senior Magistrate Raymond Langat has on Monday sentenced a house help to life in prison for defiling a six-year-old boy. According to the Senior Magistrate, the woman who goes by the name “aunty” defiled her employer’s child infecting him with STI on March 30. Inspectors from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) have on Monday raided Kamirithu Herbal Clinic in Ngara and Ruiru, Nairobi seizing herbal medicine. According to reports, the medicine which were in powder form, included some alleged to cure cancer, gynecological complications and detoxification agents. The pharmacy board raided the drug manufacturing plant on claims that the clinic has been violating set standards. Former political detainee and human rights activist Onyango Oloo has passed on. According to his sister, Ms Ruth Oloo, the activist passed on in Nakuru on Sunday night. Oloo, who was also a founder of Jukwaa political blog, had travelled to Nakuru to pick up 15 copies of Miguna Miguna’s book, Treason, when he fell sick and succumbed. Six finance officers have resigned from Kiambu County government over disagreement with Governor Ferdinand Waititu over county funds. According to the officials, they resigned over Ksh900 million pending bills to county contractors.
