Two miners were Monday killed in separate incidents as they ventured into gold mining sites in Siaya County. The first incident happened when a 24-year-old man was killed after a goldmine collapsed in Masumbi village, Kogelo, Siaya County. The man was among a group of miners who had ventured into the mining site when the incident happened on August 11 morning. He was identified as Stephen Rabwogi, 24. A man was attacked and killed by a hippopotamus at Lake Nakuru. The incident happened on August 7 in the Bondeni area, police and Kenya Wildlife Service officials said. A second person died after an explosion tore through a Pennsylvania steel plant on Monday, local officials have confirmed.
