A police officer died from injuries sustained while responding to a shooting outside the headquarters of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which is near Emory University. The Atlanta police department said the incident, which took place on Friday, involved a “single shooter” who is now dead. At least seven people were killed and eight were injured in a road accident at Korompoi area along the Kitengela-Isinya road involving a matatu and lorry. The fatal crash involved a Nailepu Sacco matatu and a lorry in what police described as a head-on collision.
