Russian officials say 48 people were killed when an Angara Airlines plane went down in a dense forest in the far-eastern Amur region. Clashes between Thai and Cambodian troops at their disputed border have killed at least 12 people, Thai authorities say. The fighting marks an escalation of a dispute between the two South East Asian neighbours that dates back more than a century. A fuel attendant was shot and killed in a robbery incident in Kitheo, Tigania, Meru County. The incident happened on Wednesday night after the attendant, identified as Josephat Muriithi, 26 resisted a robbery incident. Detectives are investigating an incident where a deaf student was found dead in his room in Karen in Nairobi. The student identified as Patrick Ngure was among those at the Karen Technical Training Institute for the Deaf when the incident happened on Wednesday, police and the school management said. Police are investigating an incident where a Briton collapsed and died at an ATM lobby in Kinoo area, Nairobi. Police said Andrew Paul Hayward, 58 had visited a girlfriend when the incident happened on July 21 at night. Witnesses said the man had been to an ATM at the local Equity branch and had withdrawn unknown amount of money when he suddenly collapsed.
