A woman was found murdered and her body dumped in a river in Ortum, West Pokot County. The body of the victim was found half-submerged in water in the river Muruny within Chebrumben village. Police later identified the victim as Betty Nakuti, 44 who was a residence of Lokirimo estate in Ortum township. The body had two deep cut wounds on the head. Police said there were blood traces on the riverbank suggesting that the deceased was injured and dragged into the river. At least two workers were killed when the wall of a house under construction collapsed on them in Nairobi’s Parklands area. More than a dozen passengers were injured when a bus they were traveling in headed for Nairobi overturned in Kimende area, Limuru, Kiambu County. Donald Trump has ordered the Department of Homeland Security to add at least 20,000 officers to enforce his deportation policies. Gunmen shot dead at least 30 travellers in an attack in Nigeria’s southeastern Imo state, Amnesty International said on Friday, raising fresh concerns about violence in a region rife with insecurity.
