Four Kenyans were killed in a road accident on Saturday night at Tapaach along the Moroto-Napak road in Uganda. The accident involved a delegation from West Pokot county government, Kenyan officials said. Orlando police have recovered two sets of earrings worth a combined $769,500 (£597,000) after an alleged thief swallowed them more than two weeks ago. Jaythan Gilder, 32, swallowed the Tiffany & Co. diamond earrings around the time he was taken into custody on 26 February, police said. Mr Gilder was monitored by detectives at an Orlando hospital for “more than a dozen days” before the earrings were expelled from his system, according to the Orlando Police Department. Al Shabaab militants overran a National Police Reserve camp in Fafi, Garissa County and killed six members. Police said four others were left with serious injuries after the attack that happened at about 5 am in Biyamadhow area. The attackers ransacked the camp and escaped with an unknown number of weapons. They shot the victims and stabbed some, police said. At least two Form Four students died after a septic tank collapsed at Ramba Boys High School in Rarieda, Siaya County. Police said two others were seriously injured after the Saturday March 22 evening incident. The students are said to have been together with others on top of the septic tank when it caved in at around 6.00 pm, witnesses told police. A 24 year old man was arrested for allegedly killing a woman and hiding her body in a septic tank in Ngurubani town, Mwea East sub-county, Kirinyaga County. Police said the suspect, Brian Wambugu Mwangi, was arrested Friday night while hiding in Mwariko Estate, within Ngurubani town. A Chief was shot dead in Chipilat, Tiaty Constituency, Baringo County, while on a mission to recover stolen livestock. The chief was shot while engaging bandits who had raided Ngaratuko area on Thursday evening, police and local officials said.
