Electricity consumption hit a new record high with a peak demand of 2,316 MW recorded on Wednesday, February 12 2025. This demand is 12 MW higher than the previous peak of 2,304 MW recorded on 15 January 15, 2025. Police are investigating the murder of a 68-year-old woman whose body was found in a tree plantation in Nambale, Busia County. The body of Elizabeth Shiambiani was found lying under a tree on the plantation. At least three people drowned in a river after a canoe they were using capsized in Holo area, Kisumu Count. Police said the incident happened on Saturday February 15 as a group was using a canoe to cross the Mugruk River.
