The King and Queen of the Netherlands His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima are scheduled to visit Kenya for a three-day state visit from March 18 to March 20, 2025.  A communiqué from the Royal House of the Netherlands said the visit is at President William Ruto’s invitation and represents a watershed moment in the two countries’ relationship. The High Court Wednesday gave the Inspector General of police Douglas Kanja the last chance to appear in court and explain what happened to the abducted youths or be jailed for contempt. Kanja and DCI Mohamed Amin were ordered to personally appear in court on Wednesday January 8 but they skipped the session. OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman’s sister, Ann Altman, has filed a lawsuit alleging that he regularly sexually abused her between 1997 and 2006. The lawsuit, which was filed on 6 January in a US District Court in the Eastern District of Missouri, alleges that the abuse started when she was three and Mr Altman was 12. Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on the roadside in Ogembo, Kisii County. The body was found in a ditch on the Motonto-Ogembo road. It was later identified to be that of Charles Makenge, 40 who is a resident of Kebute village. Police said they are yet to establish the cause of the death. This increased to three, the number of bodies discovered separately on Tuesday January 7. Police described the incidents as sudden deaths but added investigations into the same are ongoing. Luxury carmaker Rolls-Royce will expand its Goodwood factory and global headquarters to meet the growing demand for bespoke models. It will invest more than £300 million so it can build more highly-customised versions of its cars for its super-rich clientele. The 120-year old British brand came under full control of German carmaker BMW in 2003 and officially opened the site in West Sussex the same year. US safety regulators have opened an investigation of a Tesla feature that allows drivers to summon parked cars without being in the vehicle after numerous accidents were reported linked to the technology.  The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the Tesla cars operating in the “Actually Smart Summon” mode were reported to be unable to detect posts or parked cars. The feature is in place on nearly 2.6 million cars made by Tesla since 2016, including its Model S sports car, Model 3 sedan, and Model X and Y sports utility vehicles. A wildfire whipped up by extreme winds swept through a Los Angeles hillside dotted with celebrity residences Tuesday, burning homes in Pacific Palisades and prompting evacuation orders for tens of thousands. In the frantic haste to get to safety, roadways were clogged and scores of people abandoned their vehicles and fled on foot, some toting suitcases. The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) Tuesday released the 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) results.  In a statement on Tuesday, KNEC announced that the results of the exams, a key component of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), are now available on its Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) portal, urging schools to log in to access learner-specific results. “The 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment reports are ready and have been uploaded on the CBA portal, cba.kec.ac.ke,” the KNEC statement reads. “Schools that presented candidates for the assessment are advised to log into the portal and access the learner-specific reports. A Ugandan nanny who has been on the run following her involvement in a daring robbery plot targeting her employer in Nairobi’s Eastleigh was arrested in Nairobi after two months of being on the run.  Nabalayo Everline Loice, 23 was taken into custody by detectives from DCI Starehe after a robbery incident that unfolded on November 1, 2024.
