Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga has alleged that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition party leader Raila Odinga would have appointed him to his Cabinet had he clinched the presidency in 2022. Three men were Wednesday arrested over claims they lured, assaulted and robbed an Australian couple of Sh13.5 million in a fake gold deal in Nairobi’s Runda area. The men are part of fake gold dealers in the country amid a crackdown on the cartel, police said. Police and county government officials are investigating yet another death at a construction site in Nairobi. This happened in Parklands area where a mason fell from the fifth floor and landed on his head on the second floor of a neighbouring house on October 31. Kenya Railways has reviewed train fares upwards following the recent increase in fuel prices. In a statement, Kenya Railways said fares for Madaraka Express Passenger Service, Madaraka Express Commuter Service, Nairobi Commuter Rail Service, Kisumu Safari Train and Nanyuki Safari Train, will go up effective January 1, 2024. First-class passengers traveling from Nairobi to Mombasa will now have to part with Sh4,500, up from Sh3,000.
