The Court of Appeal has dealt Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza a blow after it threw out a petition seeking to block her impeachment. Two suspects connected to the abduction and subsequent murder of taxi driver Evans Bikundo Moracha, whose body was recovered at River Sagana on October 14, were arrested by police in an operation. They were arrested by Nairobi Region Crime Research detectives following a night-long operation in Nyeri and Kajiado counties on Thursday. Nairobi MCAs have exposed the rot in the county Revenue Collection System. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai said that while the county has 135 revenue collection streams, half are dysfunctional. Police are investigating an incident in which a nurse was stabbed and seriously wounded at Mkanyeni dispensary, Kwale County. Mystery surrounds the attack and police say they are investigating it. The victim was a nurse at the facility and he suffered serious injuries in the chest and stomach. He was identified as Nelson Chindoro Kwaka and had been attacked by unknown person while at the facility. The government has announced changes in the posting of at least 39 officials working under various ministries and State Departments. In a letter from the state’s Central Human Resource Management, the changes affect officials holding positions of Secretary of Administration, Director of Administration, Senior Deputy Secretary, and Undersecretaries. The piloting of the digital ID is set to begin after the government gazetted the regulations to anchor a new personal registration system. The new card, known as Maisha Digital Card also received a major boost after religious leaders endorsed it and pledged to support public sensitization on its rollout. A High Court in Eldoret has found the prime suspect in Moi University student’s murder guilty. Naftali Kinuthia was on Thursday found guilty of the April 2019 most gruesome murder. He is set to be sentenced on November 22. Justice Reuben Githinji ruled that the prosecution had proved the offense of murder and the accused stands convicted. A woman charged with the murder of Nairobi Hospital Finance Director Eric Maigo Thursday pleaded guilty. Anne Adhiambo Ouma alias Nut appeared before a judge and was identified as an adult. Police are investigating the cause of death of a man who collapsed at a bar in Dagoretti area, Nairobi. Witnesses said the deceased and another man were at Oxxy Bar and Restaurant waiting for meal when he collapsed at about 1 pm. The deceased Edward Oloo Kinyani, 51 was rushed him to Melichizedek hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival in the October 24 incident.
