Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Thursday arrested two suspects who are alleged to have been defrauding unsuspecting Kenyans by promising to offer them government jobs. According to the DCI, the two, David Thuo Njehia and Kyalo Kilonzo who have been masquerading as employees of the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company were arrested along Ngong Road in Nairobi. The government has halted the launch of third-generation IDs, dubbed the Maisha Namba. In a statement issued on Friday,  State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services PS Julius Bitok said the launch which was set to take place on Monday at Athletics Club, Nakuru, has been postponed “due to unavoidable circumstances”. A Nairobi Court has quashed a decision by Senate to suspend nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba for 6 months pending the hearing and determination of an application. The matter will be mentioned on October 25. The Senate Powers and Privileges Committee suspended Orwoba from the House until February next year. The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has revised its operating hours to enable the collection of new generation number plates. In a statement Friday, NTSA indicated that its banking halls and offices will remain open from 7.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on weekdays. A five-year-old boy is admitted to hospital after he was attacked by a pack of dogs in Tigoni area, Kiambu County. The boy was walking from a school in the area on Tuesday evening when he was attacked by the dogs. Police and locals said the dogs were mating when they turned on the boy biting him in the head and eye. Mystery surrounds the murder of a man whose body was found with a stab wound in Sosiot area, Kericho County. Police identified him as Anthony Kipng’etich adding he had a stab wound in the back. Police who arrived at the scene said there was blood oozing from the mouth of the victim. A blood-stained knife was found a few meters from the deceased body, police said. Two men are nursing wounds following an attack by a hyena in Dertu, Isiolo County. The men were attending to their livestock when a hyena struck on Wednesday, September 27 evening. The two tried to fight off the wild animal but it turned on them biting them on the thighs, police said. They screamed for help and villagers responded chasing the hyena. The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) revealed 57 Kenyans died as a result of police brutality during the anti-government rallies. According to the authority, 30 of these deaths were recorded in Kisumu, 20 in Nairobi and one each from Kakamega and Nakuru counties. The infamous “Cherera Four” were forced to resign, the National Dialogue Committee heard on Thursday. Former IEBC Commissioners Juliana Cherera, Francis Wanderi, Justus Nyang’aya and Irene Masit told the committee that they were forced out after they questioned the 2022 presidential election outcome. “It was the commission to tally and the chair (Chebukati) to declare the results.
