Police are investigating an incident in which a man died after jumping from the third floor of a building in a suspected suicide in Kahawa West, Nairobi. Thomas Ngige died on the spot after landing on his head. Police said they were called and informed of the Tuesday afternoon incident long after it had happened. Witnesses said he was alone on the balcony of the house before he leaped off. It is however not clear if he was pushed or pushed on his own. Police say they are investigating the incident. A 38-year-old man was killed in a fight with a man over his wife in Kasarani area. Police said Mathew Nyandoro sustained serious stabs in the head and chest and died on the spot after a confrontation with a stranger. The deceased and his wife were headed to their house on Wednesday night when a man seductively approached the woman. This angered Nyandoro who warned the man telling him to keep off. The power distributor Kenya Power and Lighting says increased cases of vandalism are to blame for frequent blackouts so far. According to a report from KPLC, the power distributor had recorded over 220 incidents of vandalism in the country from January to June this year, with Nairobi, Kiambu, Machakos, and Nakuru Counties accounting for over half of the reported incidents. Authorities say all 10 people on board were killed after the private aircraft came down near the village of Kuzhenkino. Details have emerged on what police will earn in new reviewed salaries. A newly recruited constable police officer will now earn a monthly salary of Sh21,645 in the review released by the National Police Service Commission (NPSC).
