A ten-month old minor died of carbon dioxide suffocation in Subukia, Nakuru County. The baby’s both parents were Sunday February 22 morning rushed to the hospital after they were found lying unconscious in their house. They had lit a jiko using charcoal to warm their house when the incident happened oblivious of the dangers lying ahead. Two miners drowned in a tunnel they were digging for gold in Awendo, Migori County, police said. This followed heavy rains that were experienced in the area and which filled the hole they were working on in Sigira area. Police said David Odhiambo, 35 and Victor Otieno, 37 were in the gold mining tunnel when it started to rain. They did not know it was raining and flood water was filing in.
