A ten-month old minor died of carbon dioxide suffocation in Subukia, Nakuru County. The baby’s both parents were Sunday February 22 morning rushed to the hospital after they were found lying unconscious in their house. They had lit a jiko using charcoal to warm their house when the incident happened oblivious of the dangers lying ahead. The incident came out after the father of the child screamed for help as he could not move out of suffocation. The wife too was weak then. Two miners drowned in a tunnel they were digging for gold in Awendo, Migori County, police said. This followed heavy rains that were experienced in the area and which filled the hole they were working on in Sigira area. Police said David Odhiambo, 35 and Victor Otieno, 37 were in the gold mining tunnel when it started to rain. They did not know it was raining and flood water was filing in. Detectives are investigating an incident where two bodies were found in Mida Forest along the main Kilifi-Malindi Highway, Kilifi County. The bodies were each on opposite sides of the highway. The first body, of a male adult aged about 40 years, was lying in a prone position about 15 meters from the left side of the road while blindfolded with a white bandage, with blood oozing from the mouth and nose. A man was beaten to death as he demanded Sh7,000 owed to him over work he had done at a charcoal burning site in Kinna, Isiolo County. Police said they had arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of Hussein Shune. Shune had gone to the site to demand a debt he was owed over supply of two charcoal kilns. A 32-year-old woman was found dead in her house long after she had gone missing in Githurai Mwiki area, Kiambu County.
