The High Court in Nairobi has declined to suspend new public gathering regulations issued by the government in a case filed by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK). Police in Nairobi have recovered assorted mobile phones, cameras, laptops and desktop computers stolen from residents. The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has approved murder charges preferred against Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa over killing of a man during Ganda by-election last year. Reports indicate that the MP is set to undergo a mental assessment next Wednesday before being charged in court. In October 2019, the MP was accused of fatally shooting Michael Jola Ngumbao, uncle of Ganda Member of County Assembly (MCA) Ruben Mwamure Katana during heated by-election campaigns. Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu has appointed a five-judge bench to hear cases related to her boss David Maraga’s advisory to President Uhuru Kenyatta to dissolve Parliament. Lands Cabinet Secretary Farida Karoney is in mourning following the death of her father Mzee Edward Kiprotich. UK supermarket giant Tesco has suspended supply of avacados from Kenyan supplier Kakuzi following claims of violating employees rights. Britain’s biggest grocery retailer announced the move after 79 Kenyans through Leigh Day law firm launched a legal claim in the High Court in London against Kakuzi’s holding company Camellia Plc  for alleged human rights abuses.
