Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has directed all tertiary institutions to reopen from Monday, October 5 after six months of closure over coronavirus fears. The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has suspended the driving licence of one of Ummoiner Sacco matatu drivers after a viral video of reckless driving. Tana and Athi River Development Authority (Tarda) boss Steven Githaiga Ruimuku has been sacked after the Court found out that he lied about his age. The Employment and Labour relations Court ordered the authority to start the process of replacing the state agency’s Managing Director (MD). The court ruled that Githaiga altered his date of birth and name on national identification documents hence fraudulently extended tenure in office. This now brings to 38,168 the total number of confirmed cases in the country. The Standard Media Group fraternity is in mourning following the death of KTN News Director Edwin Audi. The 42-year-old was among two people who died on Saturday evening after a road accident along Kajiado-Namanga road. The crash involved three vehicles, two lorries and a Toyota Probox.
