A Chinese man is reportedly quarantined in his house in Nakuru County after exhibiting coronavirus-like symptoms. The man, married to a Kenyan woman, is said to have arrived from China on Sunday and isolated himself and had minimal contact with his family. Neighbours noticed the changes and informed the county health officers, who visited the man’s residential house in Nakuru’s Upper Hill Estate. A boda boda operator was on Tuesday shot dead by an Administration Police officer at the Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital in Nairobi. Reports indicate that the rider identified as Daniel Mburu had brought a patient to the hospital when a scuffle ensued leading to the shooting incident. Some witnesses in Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s graft case will testify anonymously, the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) has said. The agency told a Nairobi court that it had obtained orders from the High Court to place the witnesses under protection over sensitivity of the matter. A Chinese man has been isolated in Kitui after exhibiting coronavirus-like symptoms. The man is an employee of a construction firm identified as Synohydro Corporation based at Mutomo trading centre in Kitui South. The High Court has barred the Nairobi County Assembly from vetting Deputy Governor nominee Anne Mwenda. In a ruling delivered on Monday, Justice Mumbi Ngugi suspended the vetting process pending the hearing and determination of a petition filed by a Nairobi resident identified as Peter Agoro. Water hyacinth in Lake Victoria continues to threaten the existence of Africa’s largest freshwater five years after the government spent Ksh80 million to acquire a harvester that later stalled. The machine was acquired in 2015 by the ministry through phase two of Lake Victoria Environmental Project jointly funded by the Government and the World Bank. Months after drone use was banned in the country, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has drafted stringent regulations that will govern the use of the technology that grew popular with modern photography and videography in the country.
