Jubilee party secretary-general Raphael Tuju has undergone a spinal surgery at Kijabe Mission Hospital after he was involved in an accident on Wednesday morning. Earlier, the Cabinet Secretary without portfolio couldn’t be airlifted to Nairobi as he was in an unstable condition.  But Kijabe CEO Dr Ken Muma later confirmed that Tuju is fit for flight after a successful operation. A middle-aged man on Tuesday got into trouble with security men at the Nyayo National Stadium during late former President Daniel Moi’s memorial service. The man, who has not been identified, attempted to access the dais as Moi’s last born son paid his tribute to the country’s second President. There was a commotion at Nyayo Stadium as Rwandan President Paul Kagame arrived to pay his last respects to late former President Daniel Arap Moi. Kagame had been welcomed by Deputy President William Ruto and foreign affairs Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau. The body of former President Daniel Arap Moi has arrived at Nyayo National Stadium for the national memorial service. The former Head of State received a state reception led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and the military, who have been leading preparations for his send-off for a week now since his death. Sarah Wairimu, the slain businessman Tob Cohen’s widow, has accused her sister-in-law Gabriele Van Straten of filing a forged Will in court. In an application filed by lawyer Philip Murgor at the High Court’s family division, Ms Wairimu claimed that she had sought services of an expert, who confirmed to her that the Will dated April 30,  2019, that Cohen’s sister presented in court was fake. Police in Kisumu have launched investigations into a fire incident at the county finances offices on Sunday evening. The fire broke out on the second floor of Prosperity House, which houses the county government. Reports indicate that most computers at Integrated Financial Management and Information System (IFMIS) office were destroyed before the fire was contained. Suspected members of Al Shabaab on Sunday launched an attack at Milihoi on the Lamu-Garsen road. The militants burnt a lorry and an excavator belonging to H-Young construction company. Lamu Police Commissioner Irungu Macharia confirmed the incident saying police engaged the militants in a gun battle before they (militants) fled into a nearby forest. The President, who was driving a G-wagon, was at the Stadium to inspect the memorial service preparations. A Chinese national caught in a viral video assaulting a Kenyan employee has been arrested. In a statement, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti said the man was arrested on Sunday morning in Kileleshwa, Nairobi. According to the DCI, the man identified as Deng Hailan, who works as a chef at Chez Wou Restaurant doesn’t have a work permit. Journalists from various media stations camping at Parliament buildings were on Sunday ordered not to take pictures of retired President Mwai Kibaki viewing the body of his late predecessor Daniel Arap Moi. The government on Friday ruled out the option of evacuating Kenyan students stuck in Wuhan, China, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak. In a statement, Foreign affairs PS Macharia Kamau alluded that the students are safe in China. Peter Imwatok, the Nairobi county assembly minority whip, has alleged a plot to eliminate him after he recently revealed plan to impeach Governor Mike Sonko. Imwatok, who doubles up as Makongeni MCA, on Thursday recorded a statement at Central Police Station under OB number 83/06/02/2020 alleging threats to his life by people close to the governor.
