High Court Judge Mumbi Ngugi has disqualified herself from hearing an application filed by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko challenging orders barring him from his City Hall office. Sonko had in December last year sought to have Justice Ngugi and her two colleagues Grace Ngenye and John Onyiego recuse themselves from the proceedings citing possible biased ruling. Safaricom has announced a new partnership with Ria Money Transfer that will allow M-Pesa customers to receive international money transfers from over 20 countries worldwide. Michael Joseph, the telecommunication company’s acting CEO, said on Monday that the partnership will benefit at least 26 million M-Pesa subscribers. The July 1, 2020, deadline for application of the Smart Driving Licence is drawing near. The new licence looks similar to the new generation National Identity (ID) cards. Five terror suspects are locked up in police cells in Nairobi after they were arrested as they allegedly planned a terror attack along Kiambu Road on Saturday. President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyamabi against tolerating rogue officers in the service.
