atwoli, wetangulaBungoma Senator, Moses Wetangula has asked the Luhya people to ignore COTU Secretary General, Francis Atwoli who hosted a couple of Western leaders at his home on Sunday.

“Atwoli’s cheap gimmicks with a handful of imposters and masquerades will not solve Mulembe unity issues. He is a turncoat we should ignore,” the senate minority leader said.
Atwoli was in a meeting with elders and ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi who they resolved should remain the community’s spokesperson and the presidential flagbearer in 2022.
But Wetangula criticised the move saying that it would further divide the people.

“Atwoli’s aim is to divide and not unite Luhyas. Where were elected Luhyas from Bungoma, Trans Nzoia and Nairobi? They don’t matter?” he posed.

Atwoli and Mudavadi were at logger-heads after the latter was a no-show at NASA leader, Raila Odinga’s ‘swearing in’ ceremony on January 30.

But the two reportedly ‘made up’ after the meeting held at Atwoli’s home in Khwisero, Kakamega County.

“We have agreed that Mr Mudavadi will continue to spearhead the Luhya community as its spokesperson,” he said.

In attendance were: Amos Wako (Busia Senator), Vihiga Woman Representative Beatrice Adagala, MPs Sakwa Bunyasi (Nambale), Tindi Mwale (Butere), Omboko Milemba (Emuhaya), Christopher Aseka (Khwisero), Ayub Savula (Lugari), Alfred Agoi (Sabatia) and Ernest Ogesi (Vihiga).
