Brookside Dairies has stopped sponsoring Thika United after 15 years following the club’s relegation to the National Super League this year.

The Thika-based outfit, formed in 2000 as Beirut FC finally kissed the grass after finishing last in the 2018 Kenyan Premier League season.

The management is now calling on new partners/sponsors to come on board and support their new life in the second tier league.

They are even willing to forge a business partnership or accept a complete takeover with any well-wishers to ensure the team stays afloat.

Ahead of the new season starting early December, the team is yet to assemble to begin preseason due to lack of finances.

The Brookside sponsorship which stood at around Ksh15 million offered them the much needed stability that helped them nurture young talents mostly from high.

Some of their former players include Gor Mahia’s midfielder Francis Kahata, Dennis Odhiambo (Sofapaka) and Michael Olunga (Kashiwa Reysol).
