Dont we remember how the same Chris Wood criticised TEAMs and SEACOM and the Telecos last year for failing to transfer the benefits to users? Is this the same man talking? Has he been inducted to the thieving mechanism of the unpatriotic CEOs and Directors of the Telecos?
Can we as the ICT consumers come together and demand a stop to this? Why must we put up with the nonsense and wait up to June for Dr Ndemo to act? Do we even trust that he will act? Haven’t we seen the goal post shift before?
Safaricom CEO, one Michael Joseph, is growing more arrogant as he entrench himself in the leadership. Yesterday in an interview with NTV, he talked how we can do nothing about costs because they have loyal clients. He even chose to misinform the people when he claimed that the main hindrance to acquisition or ownership of technology is initial cost of ownership. That is very wrong because that way more than three times the number of the internet users now will own it. The problem is that people are cutting costs and so the internet costs must go down to lure more on-board.
I feel like we are being betrayed everyday with no one on our side. There was oen masquarader called Alexa Gakuru who purported to lead one consumer advocacy body. Where is he now. Maybe he is in bed with the players. Maybe it is a romance we better not interrupt.
