We broke the story regionally in February and this time again, the contest is back.

    Dell Challenge

The University of Texas at Austin and Dell are running the Dell Innovation Competition to search for student social entrepreneurs who can dream up ingenious ideas to change the world for the better. The contest is open to College students worldwide and all have a chance to win $50,000 to turn their ideas into new business or nonprofit.
You need to go to http://www.dellsocialinnovationcompetition.com to enter the contest and the deadline to enter is February 14, 2011. The public is able to participate with the students but only by commenting or voting online and discussing the ideas in the online community forum.

The RGK Center for Philanthropy & Community Service in the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin has awarded more than $200,000 in prizes to student social entrepreneurs since the introduction of the Social Innovation Competition in 2006.

A Kenyan, Kennedy Odede, was the winner of the $50,000 in 2010 contest. Read his NYT Op-Ed here.
