One lady was awarded twice at the Beyond Zero Marathon held today, Kahawa Tungu can authoritatively report.

The lady in question, Brilian Jepkoech (suspected to be a fake name), was awarded as the winner of the 21 kilometre road race and at the same time as the winner for 10 kilometre race. The name of the real winner for the 21km race is Brilian Jepkorir, who was not allowed to step on the podium.

In the 10km race, she was given the name Ngige Monica, to confuse the dignitaries present to think that it was a different person.

According to our moles who attended the event the real winner was sidelined and pushed away for claiming what was rightfully hers.

It only could take magic for one athlete to compete in two different races that were going on simultaneously, and win.

“The first medal she took while wearing a white t-shirts as the number one for 10Kms, then a certain Lady came near the security team saying she was number one and that lady with a white t-shirt is taking her medal and cash money, as you know near the President huwezi pita pita ovyo ovyo she was pulled back,” reports our source.

She also did not deserve the 21 kilometre medal and money, as the rightful winner was identified as Brillian Kipkoech who had short hair.

Here is the 21km award video:

Our mole further reveals that the lady changed her top at the full glare of the security detail, without raising any suspicion as it would be in such an event attended by the President and his deputy.

Here is a video showing the same lady receiving two awards:

In other discrepancies that happened, at the 10km race, the second runners-up was awarded more money (Ksh75,000) than the first runners-up, who was awarded Ksh60,000. The number three in this category was the same lady in question, who received the award twice. This time she was given the name Monica Ngige.

    Here’s the video:

In the men’s race, Bett finished first in 01:01:34 beating Philemon Rono in one second while Simon Kirui was third in 01:01:40.

In the 10km race for men, Vincent Ng’etich won the men’s event ahead of Alexander Mutiso while Shadrack Koech was third.
