Transport CS, James Macharia has sacked nominated MP, Maina Kamanda’s son, Michael Maina from the board of the Kenya Ports Authority. The termination was posted through a June 7 gazette notice.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 4 of the Kenya Ports Authority, the appointment of Michael K. Maina as a member of the Board of Kenya Ports Authority has been revoked,” reads the notice.

His sacking comes days after the board members, including Michael, had dismissed the KPA Managing Director, Catherine Mturi- Wairi who was later reinstated by the court which termed her removal as unprocedural.

Michael was appointed director of the board on January 2, 2015 replacing Ian Karanja whose three-year term had expired.
