    CSs Duale, Ogamba make fresh appointments

    Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and his Education counterpart Julius Ogamba have announced a series of appointments and reappointments to boards and councils in the health and education sectors.

    In a Kenya Gazette notice dated July 17, 2026, Duale appointed Ahmed Salat Fankey as the Chairperson of the Public Health Officers and Technicians Council for a three-year term effective July 17, 2026.

    He also appointed Emily Kirui, Abubakar Jirow, Michael Gillo, Joseph Kilel, James Odera, Halima Gababa, Catherine Kimani, Omar Sigomba, Gertrude Rapongo, and Lukas Lokwae Edete as members of the council for the same period.

    In a separate appointment, the Health CS named Judith Adhiambo Kobe, Dr Patriciah Mbogoh, Sylvester Ndori, and Abdullahi Siyad Adan as members of the Council of the Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute for a three-year term effective July 17, 2026.

    Duale also appointed Dr Charles Jakait Sangalo as a member of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council for a three-year term starting July 17, 2026.

    Meanwhile, Education CS Julius Ogamba reappointed Prof Ahmed Kibet Fere as Chairperson of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Curriculum Development, Assessment and Certification Council for another three-year term.

    He also reappointed Dr Mercy Wanjiru Mwaniki, Loice Chelagat Kutoh Yator, Rachel N. Kimani, Florence Atieno Suji, Wambua Nyamai, and Dr Joseph Kaberia Arimba as non-executive members of the council for the same period.

    Ogamba further reappointed Prof Andrew Rasugu Otachi Riechi and Kibiwott Munge as members of the Governing Council of the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) for three years.

    He also appointed Margaret Njaggah as a member of the KICD Governing Council for a three-year term effective July 17, 2026.

    In another Gazette notice, Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eric Muriithi Mugaa appointed Gilbert Bwire Wangalwa as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Irrigation Authority for a three-year term effective July 20, 2026.

    Mugaa also reappointed Mary Kanana Mwiti and Ubah Kahiye as members of the National Irrigation Authority Board for a further three-year term beginning July 20, 2026.
