    Following his brief but impactful stint at Vanderbilt, Garland decided to forgo the remainder of his college eligibility and declared for the 2019 NBA Draft, where he was selected fifth overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

    In his rookie season with the Cavaliers (2019-2020), Garland faced the typical challenges that come with being a first-year player.

    He averaged 12.3 points, 3.9 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game, showing flashes of his potential while also learning the nuances of the NBA game.

    As he entered his second season (2020-2021), Garland’s performance improved significantly; he averaged around 17.4 points and 6.1 assists per game.

    During this time, he began to emerge as a leader on the team and developed a strong backcourt partnership with fellow young star Collin Sexton.

    Garland truly had a breakout season in 2021-2022, averaging an impressive 21.7 points, 8.6 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game.

    His remarkable performance earned him a spot in the NBA All-Star Game, making him one of the youngest players in Cavaliers history to achieve this honor.

    His ability to shoot from deep, combined with excellent playmaking skills, made him an essential part of the Cavaliers’ success that season.

    In recent seasons (2022-2023), Garland has continued to excel, maintaining averages of over 21 points per game while contributing significantly in assists and steals.

    He signed a five-year contract extension worth approximately $231 million in 2022, which reflects the Cavaliers’ confidence in his potential as a franchise player.

    Known for his shooting prowess, exceptional court vision, and skilled ball-handling abilities, Garland has become a cornerstone of the Cavaliers’ roster.
