Geoffrey Mosiria, better known as ‘The Dollar Boy’ isn’t your ordinary youth; judging by his financial arsenal that includes several sleek cars and several real estate properties, expansive travels around the globe and connections to the who-is-who in Nairobi’s top leadership ranks.
Mosiria first rose to fame in the University of Nairobi’s then chaotic students chairmanship campaigns in 2015 where he battled Babu Owino. Though unsuccessful in his bid, he gave Babu Owino a run for his money and judging by his deep pockets, earned the love and admiration of comrades. University of Nairobi’s career political strategist Ndege Serikal blessed him as The Dollar Boy, a name that has stuck ever since and he has lived by it, dishing dollars to comrades without discrimination.
Sources close to the flamboyant campus politician cum businessman intimate that he plans to battle it out with Hon Sakaja for the Nairobi Governorship in 2022, should Governor Sonko opt not to defend his seat.
Despite being known for his hard-hitting campus politics, the Dollar Boy played a crucial role in the last general elections where he was a strategist in Jubilee’s Gusii region campaigns before shifting to Nairobi to work with Governor Mike Sonko as to lead his personal social media team, under the Nairobi Mini-bloggers umbrella. He is the mastermind of the Nairobi Mini Bloggers group that defends Governor Sonko in all social media attacks and fearlessly tells off critics of the Governor.

Moles also inform this desk that he is the person who feeds Sonko with information of any misconduct within the county, thanks to his networks in the city. Hence, the Governor can pop in unannounced at any public facility that harbours corruption or isn’t delivering effectively.
He is one of the key founders of Movement for the Advancement of Democracy (MDF), a revolutionary youth-led group that aims to re-energize the revolutionary spirit amongst youths.
Moles within the city Hall intimate that Sonko’s circle of friends are pushing to have him express interest in the County Chief of Staff’s position.
“This will be a timely promotion from his current position of Project Manager, Sonko Rescue Team where he has done wonders in touching the lives of people in slums and remote areas in Nairobi. The Chief of Staff’s post when awarded to a youth like Mosiria will help push Nairobi to greater levels and ensure students’ full support to the Sonko administration,” says our mole, who is pushing to have Mosiria take over from Brian Mugo who was suspended for misuse of funds.
