    Ex-Harambee Stars Defender George Owino Handed 10-Year Ban By FIFA For Match Fixing

    Former Harambee Stars player George Owino banned from all football-related activities for 10 years over match fixing.

    Owino, who last played actively for Mathare United in the Kenyan Premier League was also fined KSh1.5m by Zurish-based global body.

    The player has been under probe for fixing the national team games between 2009 and 2011.

    “Moreover, the Kenyan player Mr George Owino Audi has been banned from taking part in any kind of football-related activity at both national and international level (administrative, sports or any other) for a period of ten (10) years. In addition, a fine in the amount of CHF 15,000 has been imposed upon him,” a statement from FIFA reads.
