Police are investigating an incident where a 12-year-old girl was burnt and admitted in hospital following an electrocution incident in a village in Siaya County.
The girl who is a grade seven pupil at Awelo Primary School was walking from school on March 19 when touched a low lying live Kenya Power and Lighting cable.
This burnt her and was rushed to a local hospital in serious condition.
Police said they later visited the scene and found Kenya Power officials correcting the cables.
The girl was admitted in hospital in serious condition, police and witnesses said.
Police said they are investigating the incident with an aim of taking action on Kenya Power officials.
Locals had threatened to stage a protest over the incident and similar past ones.
They accused the power utility of negligence.
Elsewhere in Masinga, Machakos County, a man was found dead on the roadside in a village.
Police said the body of Alphonse Mutua, 67 was found in a trench on the roadside on March 19.
The cause of the death is yet to be established.
The body was moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
In Lamu, a man collapsed in his office in an incident. The man was training his colleagues in the office when he collapsed and died, police said.

It is not clear what caused the death, police said.
In Maralal, Samburu County, a man was stabbed and killed in a fight.
Police said the deceased had fought with his friend following a disagreement on March 19.
Witnesses and police said the deceased was stabbed on the left side of his back with a knife and as a result, he succumbed to the injury.
The assailant escaped the scene after the attack. Police said efforts to trace the assailant for grilling are ongoing.
Detectives handling the case said they are investigating what prompted the fight between the friends that turned fatal.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
